About the Position:
Eagle Ridge Academy is seeking a motivated, student-centered Principal who leads with integrity, builds strong relationships, and serves as the primary instructional leader of the school. The Principal works collaboratively with teachers, staff, students, families, and the leadership team to ensure that Eagle Ridge Academy continues to provide a rigorous, supportive, and engaging learning environment where all students can thrive.
As the instructional leader of the building, the Principal is responsible for guiding the development, implementation, and alignment of curriculum and instructional practices across the school. This includes supporting teachers through regular observations, coaching, and feedback; using instructional data to inform decision-making; and promoting high-quality instructional strategies, including those aligned with Teach Like a Champion practices. The Principal oversees professional learning for staff, guides and supports the work of the Instructional Leadership Team, and helps ensure that instruction remains rigorous, engaging, and aligned with Colorado Academic Standards.
The Principal also plays a key role in developing and supporting staff by supervising and evaluating instructional personnel, overseeing staff induction and mentorship programs, and creating opportunities for meaningful professional development. In partnership with the leadership team, the Principal helps cultivate a collaborative culture focused on continuous improvement, accountability, and professional growth.
Beyond the classroom, the Principal oversees several key academic systems that support student success, including testing coordination, instructional data tracking, gradebook oversight, credit recovery programs, and summer school programming. The Principal also supports school improvement planning, represents the school on the School Accountability Committee (SAC), and works closely with school leadership to ensure alignment between academic programs, operational systems, and the overall mission of the school.

Key Responsibilities of the Principal:
Instructional Leadership & Academic Programs
Serve as the primary instructional leader of the school, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all classrooms.
Lead the development, implementation, and alignment of curriculum and instructional programming with Colorado Academic Standards.
Provide instructional leadership and support through classroom observations, coaching, and feedback to teachers.
Lead and support the Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) in advancing schoolwide instructional priorities.
Oversee curriculum and instructional materials procurement and management, including textbooks, equipment, and instructional resources.
Monitor gradebook practices to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment with school expectations.
Oversee instructional data tracking and analysis to inform decision-making and support student achievement.
Oversee academic success systems, including credit recovery and summer school programming.
Oversee schoolwide testing coordination and implementation.
Provide oversight for DAC-related responsibilities and processes.
Staff Supervision, Development & Professional Learning
Supervise and evaluate instructional staff.
Conduct evaluations for instructional support staff as assigned.
Plan, schedule, and oversee meaningful professional development opportunities aligned with school goals.
Lead the staff induction program for new teachers.
Oversee and support the mentor/mentee program to promote professional growth and collaboration.
Cross-train Deans and other leadership team members to support shared leadership responsibilities.
School Leadership & Continuous Improvement
Support the development and implementation of the school improvement plan.
Serve as the school’s representative on the School Accountability Committee (SAC).
Collaborate with the leadership team to strengthen instructional systems, culture, and operational effectiveness.
Support school events, activities, and community engagement efforts.
Operational Support & Student Success Systems
Oversee substitute teacher coordination and support systems that ensure continuity of instruction.
Support recruitment efforts for incoming students, including outreach to 8th grade families and feeder schools.
Help ensure that school systems and structures support a safe, welcoming, and academically rigorous learning environment.
***Position will start on July 1, 2026, and will require some meetings and training in June. This is a 215-day position***
Compensation/Salary:
Salary commensurate with experience and aligned with the scope of the role.
Salary Range is $98,000 - $120,000

Minimum Qualifications
Valid Colorado Principal License or the ability to obtain licensure through the Colorado Department of Education.
Master’s degree or higher in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 3–5 years of successful teaching experience at the secondary level.
Demonstrated experience supporting instructional improvement and student achievement.
Experience supervising, coaching, or evaluating instructional staff.
Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional best practices, and data-informed decision making.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
Commitment to creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive school environment for all students.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience as an Assistant Principal, Dean, or other school leadership role at the secondary level.
Experience working in a college-preparatory or high-performing academic environment.
Familiarity with Teach Like a Champion instructional practices and coaching models.
Experience using student performance data and assessments (including SAT, PSAT, and other college-readiness indicators) to guide instructional improvement.
Experience leading professional development and supporting teacher growth.
Experience working in or supporting a charter school environment.
Demonstrated success building strong school culture and positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
